THE ORIGIN

IREAP is a Mini-MSME incorporated in 2008 by accomplished Professionals in Energy, Electricity, Communications, Social Sciences, health care etc. Promoters have rich experience serving Government of India in high positions in stints of 35-45 years in respective areas covering Design, Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Medicine, Metallurgy, Communications etc. IREAP has handled assignments and Research initiatives. IREAP promotes energy conservation, efficiency, and clean energy access by deploying renewable technologies to protect the environment and support net-zero objectives. Working alongside diverse stakeholders, IREAP reduces carbon footprints and empowers communities, fostering a culture of energy-efficient living that enables sustainable growth. Aligned with global development goals, IREAP addresses poverty alleviation and socio-economic development by optimizing energy use across industry, agriculture, and rural infrastructure, enhancing quality of life and supporting sustainable progress.

RESEARCH INITIATIVES

  1. Consultancy provided to M/S Noesis Strategic Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd - provided professional; services in Strategic Management to plan for suitable sites for setting up large coal based thermal plants.
  2. Consultancy provided to M/S Taida Impex Pvt Ltd Feasibility reports to develop Coal and other mining possibilities in African countries.
  3. Total Consultancy Services to oversee the Design, Engineering, procurement and construction of the 7.5 MW biomass (Mustard Husk) based power generation plant on turnkey basis through EPC Contractor.
  4. Concurrent Lenders Engineer to Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA). for IREDA funded 25 MW Bagasse based Co-generation operating Power Plant at Naraingarh. (4 years)
  5. Dr K. K. Govil Served as Senior Advisor to the organization Integrated Research and Action for Development (IRADC) (2006-2012) 7 years, which included:
    • Evaluation of Franchise Systems introduced by REC in Distribution Management in villages; in the states of Assam, West Bengal and Nagaland, under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) scheme of GOI. The Research study involved social survey in each of the 30 villages in these states. The impact of Franchisee System on each of the Stake holder in Distribution management improvement was studied and recommendations made.
    • Research Study taken up to evaluate the RGGVY scheme in totality and to suggest ways to make it more effective from the point of view of village Electrification, covering the role of Union and State Govts, their agencies, Regulators, effectiveness of Franchisee system, availability of power and role and responsibilities of various stake holders. The study covered 25 villages each in the states of Himanchal Pradesh, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. covering a total of 125 villages. Social surveys were conducted in each of the villages covering about 10 to 15% population to include each of the representative social group. The activities included Design of questionnaire for different stake holders, capture of data from various agencies including Gram Panchayats, Regulators, implementing agencies and Govt Bodies. Data Collection in the villages; Data assimilation, Data analysis, conclusions and Presentation to REC/GOI in Assn. with Survey Teams.
  6. Dr K. K. Govil also served Ministry of Power as Panel consultant (Thermal) for effective monitoring of Nation wide Thermal Plants covering around 60,000 MW planal for 11th and 12th Five year Plan to expedite the construction for timely commissioning.

ADVOCACY BY IREAP

  1. Promoted High Quality Heat Reflective “COOL ROOF” paint manufactured by M/s Indian Insulation & Engg, Mohali, which reduces the roof surface Temp. in summers from 40-50°C to 35-38°C and can reduce Air conditioning costs - 15 to 25% for top floor residents.
  2. Advocacy for Roof Top Solar to reduce electricity bills of Residents for top floor residents.
  3. Submitted a Research Paper “Pollution in Delhi - NCR: Organisation VS orders for solution” by Dr K. K. Govil & Er S. K. Thakur (Sept 2020) to CJI, PM of India, Minister for Env.& Forest, and other Ministers.
  4. Need for change in Organisation Systems to Control Pollution by R&D Solutions and stop dependence on Acts or Orders awarding Punishment.

  5. An unsolicited Proposal for consultancy by nomination was submitted to NITI Aayog under Research Scheme RSNA-2018, Titled, “Research study to find ways to prevent Deaths due to Lightening Strikes in Rural India”. (Aug/Dec 2020)
  6. Proposal was sent to Hon'ble MOS - Environment Forest & Climate change from IREAP, “to conduct Research and Design study to set up artificial Electro - Mechanical System to reduce AQI in Delhi during Sept - January every season”.
  7. We advocate earliest demonstration and large scale production and use of Small Modular Reactors (SMR) Simplified Thorium Gas Cooled (STGR) reactors in India. STGR multiple applications provides at low cost to give high benefit/cost ratio. STGR are deal for isolated low voltage Grids to electrify Rural India and in Support of Solar and Wind to maintain the balance in Grid.
  8. IREAP is best suited to undertake research studies on impact assessment of corporate social Responsibility (CSR) Project investments made by corporates.
